Do you have favorite quotes or scriptures that you'd like to display in your home?  I finally got around to putting these up in our dining area.   I love that we are able to have these as a daily reminder of what is important for our family.  I asked my kids about their favorite scriptures and then I wanted to put in the family rules and the quotes.  Vinyl lettering really does add a lot of character to any room.  I love how this turned out!

Our Family Rules

Our Family Rules in vinyl lettering is a great reminder of the things that make a home peaceful and happy.  Whose home can’t use that reminder?  Mine sure does.  We hang ours in the dining room so we see it many times every day.  We create the vinyl lettering in various sizes so you can place it in a frame, on a wood board or directly to a wall.  Our vinyl is a great substitute for paint.  It’s easy to install, there is no mess and it comes off with little effort without damaging the surface of the wall.  Let us know if you'd like to customize this product!

Vinyl Ruler Growth Chart

I absolutely love the idea of this Ruler Growth Chart!  I have had growth charts in each of my children's rooms but have now combined them all to this lovely board.  You can pick up the pine board (1"x8"x6') at any home improvement store and then simply apply the vinyl lettering to it.  The vinyl measurements go up to 6.5' because the ruler is hung 6" off the ground.

Wash Your Hands, Use Soap

Reminders always work, I have this tile in the boys bathroom and my 9 year old came to me and told me that it really works because it reminded him to wash his hands and to use soap.

Little Known Facts

The other night, my husband and I had a Phase 10 face off. If I won, he had to clean the toilet every time her left the toilet seat open. If he won, I had to fold the laundry (both bets were for a month). I totally lost the first round, and I get a little competitive so we agreed to go double or nothing. It got so intense and my body started shaking from all the adrenaline (yes that it how competitive I get). I won by 5 points, and I thought I would be nice and create a little reminder for him to shut the toilet lid.

Snap Crackle Pop Vinyl Lettering

I love the fourth of July, and I am so excited for the fireworks. This would work as an excellent decoration that resembles those fireworks!

Snap, Crackle, Pop Firecrackers Product is sold as lettering only or a DIY kit with blocks. We twisted some steel wire for the wick but you can also use twine with a burnt tip to resemble the fireworks right before they explode!

Bright Smiles

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Here is a picture of Lalia in one of her new shirts that we made using the vinyl stencils. This one was painted using regular fabric paint.

Spray Fabric Paint with Stencils

Now this type of paint is a little trickier than the previous stencil posts (bleach pens, regular fabric paint). I used fabric spray paint from Tulip, and I did mess up the first time, let me show you how...



Now my mistake was I was spraying the paint too close to the fabric and spraying too much!! This caused the paint to bleed outside of the edges, and not allow the font to appear clear and precise like I wanted.

By the way, all paint and bleach will bleed to the other side of the t-shirt unless you place cardboard or another thick object between layers of fabric.



This is the correct way. Here I sprayed the paint at least 10 inches from the surface, and to get the darker red, I did two coats (sprayed it again after the first layer dried). See those lines above my name? That was my error, when I cut the vinyl, I didn't cut a big enough space around it (if you place an order for a stencil, you will have a border of at least three inches).



Using fabric spray paint was a trial-and-error process but it worked out great and now I have a team t-shirt for a mud run coming up!!

Mahalo New Vinyl Product

Aloha, Eileen sent me this picture yesterday, and I could not help but smile. Far down the road I am planning a trip to Hawaii, and this seemed to just fit perfectly with my day.

This is sold in two ways, as a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Kit, or as the lettering only. The color of the flowers and flip flops are as shown in the picture, unless specified on the order and then you can choose the color for the lettering.

Know anyone who used to live in Hawaii? This would absolutely be a fantastic gift or for a house-warming party!
